LGLA was engaged to renew the landscape for a 1910 Mission Revival house designed by Heineman and Heineman. The first step was to develop a Cultural Landscape Report that examined the two periods of significance: the original Craftsman-era landscape, and the 1970s-era swimming pool and landscape, designed by noted resort landscape architect Courtland Paul. Extensive historical research allowed the team to develop a design that balanced the two periods of significance while making the landscape more resilient and suitable for contemporary outdoor living.
