PROJECTS

For the Virginia Robinson Gardens Historic American Landscapes Survey, LGLA and project co-lead and ASLA Southern California HALS Liaison Alison Terry have been awarded the 2023 Preservation Design Award from the California Preservation Foundation and the 2023 Public Stewardship Award from ASLA Southern California. The scope of work included on-site inventory and documentation, comprehensive historical research and writing, large-format photography, and the creation of plans, sections, details, sketches, and photographs that document the garden. The HALS report will support VRG's goal of achieving House Museum accreditation and will act as a guide for the continued preservation of the gardens.

The HALS documentation includes a written narrative, measured drawings, and archival-quality photography. The Report is housed in the National Archives.
